We receive and store information entered on grosmart.com/ or as provide in any other way by a customer. Customers can choose not to provide certain information; however, as a result may not be able to receive order acknowledgements or to access soil test results and listings of needed remediation products. We use the information our customers provide to respond to requests for information and for general customer communications.
We receive and store certain types of information whenever our customers interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use “cookies,” and we obtain certain types of information when a customer’s Web browser accesses our Web site.
When customers download information from our site we may receive information concerning location and mobile device, including a unique identifier for the device. We may use this information to provide location-based services, such as advertising, search results, and other personalized content. Most mobile devices allow customers to turn off location services.
To help us make e-mails more useful and interesting, we often receive a confirmation when customers open e-mail from www.think-soil.com or groSMARTlawnandgarden.com assuming the computer supports such capabilities. Receipt of e-mails or other mail can be prevented via adjustment to customer preferences.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If customers upload images to the website avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website
When customers leave a comment on our site they may opt-in to saving name, email address and website in cookies. These are for the customer’s convenience so they do not have to fill in personal details again when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
When customers visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if the browser being used accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.
At log in, we will also set up several cookies to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If “Remember Me” if selected the login will persist for two weeks. When the customer logs out of the account, the login cookies will be removed.
Should customers edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in the customer’s browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with
We will not sell or in any way share customer information gathered during the purchasing process with any outside party. All email addresses may be used for the delivery of our agronomic oriented newsletter or as a means of communicating sale items or other product specials. Customers will have the option of unsubscribing to any / all electronic publications we may send
How long we retain your data
If customers leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If a customer has an account on this site, or has left comments, he/she can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold, including any data provided to us. Customers can also request that we erase any personal data we hold. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
